Happy Meal Madagascar Toys
McDonald`s offered the Madagascar 2 Happy Meal toy line between November 7 and December 4 of 2008. There were 8 figures in the set and each one represented a different favorite character from the hit DreamWorks film. These were motion-activated toys which made sound effects when you shook them. A button on the figure`s back made them say one of several catchphrases which were lines they spoke in the film.
Alex the Lion was popular figure and most fans of the movie definitely wanted to own that toy. His figure would say either 'I'm Alex, The Alex', 'Let`s Go Wild', or 'You got it.' Marty the Zebra was another popular figure. His toy would speak the lines 'Hollah at ya boy' or 'You guys are crazy'. Then there was the sassy Gloria the Hippo whose toy said either 'Alrighty Boys', 'Let`s Go', or 'I know that`s right'.
There was a toy for Melman the nervous giraffe too. Fans of the movie will be familiar with his catchphrases 'What are we gonna do', 'Ow, Ow, Ow' , and 'You guys really need a doctor.' Skipper the Penguins toy reflected his character`s quirky humor and when you shook it it said either 'Just smile and wave boys' or 'Progress report'.
The regal King Julien the Lemur was part of the set and his special sound effect was to sing his favorite song ' I like to move it move it.' Mason the Chimp was a fun toy to monkey around with, when you shook it said either 'A ha', 'Check mate', or 'Africa'. The final figure in the set is the one for Moto Moto the Hippo. His toy sang songs to Gloria and said things like 'I know I'm every hippo`s dream', and 'wow'.
