The McDonald`s Star Wars Clone wars line of Happy Meal toys was offered from August 15 to September 11 of 2008. It was a tie in with the Star Wars Clone Wars animated movie. It was also the first time McDonald`s had collaborated with LucasFilm Ltd.. The series has been a popular set of collectibles for both Star Wars fans as well as general collectors of Happy Meal toys. There were 18 toys in all as part of the set and they were all bobblehead type figures. There were characters from both the classic Star Wars films as well as the Modern Clone Wars animated features. Each one was carefully designed in conjunction with LucasFilm`s in-house animator`s to capture the authentic feel of the Star wars universe. The figures from the Clone Wars animated film included Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, Asajj Ventress, Ashoka Tano, Captain Rex, Padme Admidala, C-3PO and R2-D2. Other favorite characters from the original Star Wars movies which were included in the set were Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Wicket the Ewok, Darth Vader, stormtooper, , Bobba Fett, and General Grevious. Each figure was depicted posed on a signature Star Wars vehicle including the Millennium Falcon, or a Republic Gunship. Each figure also featured playable actions and sounds. The Darth Vader figure made heavy breathing noises, Ashoka`s light saber could light up and the Chewbacca figure could make it`s AT-ST walker walk a cross the ground. |
